OLD MILITARY VEHICLE CAR AND MILITARY VEHICLE SHOWS

00DC81 went to a car show July 18th. It was sponsored by a Columbus, Ohio car club called "Cops and Rodders". It's a club that donates its proceeds to local charities. The show was held in conjunction with the State of Ohio Fraternal Order of Police statewide conference, and was staged in the parking lot of a tavern called "The Winking Lizard" (no comments, please).

The weather forecast was for partly cloudy in the morning and a 60% chance of thundershowers in the afternoon. I guess that kept some folks home, as the attendance could have been a lot better. Most of the participants were police officers from the Columbus area. There were some very nice street rods, but nothing like 00DC81!

It's not that they made 00DC81 park by itself, I arrived early enough to get a spot where I did not have to back up! I also had a tree for some shade.

Probably because most of the folks were police officers, active and retired, there was quite a bit of interest in 00DC81. Most of them thought that it would be a great "urban assault vehicle". We had the usually number of children that seem to be drawn to "things green".

We also passed out some information on the 2006 MVPA International Convention to be held in Dayton. I even had one fellow tell me to call him if I wanted to sell 00DC81.  NEVER....

There were a number of awards, and 00DC brought one home. It's nice to get something, but that's not the reason we go to the shows. We have more fun blabbing about "big green things" and promoting military vehicle collecting and restoring.

And now, here's a car that would be great for a "spare" for 00DC81. They don't get much smaller!

(we found an exhaust pipe the size of a cold drink straw).
